Reliable sources have informed us that George Marshall, the 5'11 point guard from Brooks High School in Chicago, has received a scholarship offer courtesy of the University Of Wisconsin. The offer is Marshall's first from a Big Ten school and comes on top of previous offers from DePaul, Illinois State, Xavier, Baylor and Ohio University. Marshall is also receiving strong interest from Purdue, Northwestern, Marquette and Notre Dame.
Marshall ranks as one of the top point guards in an absolutely loaded 2011 class in Illinois. He is a quintessential floor leader, makes good decisions with the ball and plays under control. He plays on a high school team at Brooks that ranks among our top 15 in the state heading into the season.
Getting back to Wisconsin, Badgers head coach Bo Ryan and assistant coach Howard Moore continue to do an outstanding job of recruiting the state of Illinois. Not only did they recently sign 6'7 wing forward Duje Dukan from Deerfield High School in Deerfield, IL as a member of their 2010 recruiting class, but at the present time the Badgers remain a strong player for a number of other top prospects in Illinois from the class of 2011, including 6'2 combo guard Chasson Randle from Rock Island High School in Rock Island, IL and 6'5 shooting guard Jacob Williams from St. Patrick High School in Chicago among others.
