Blackshear's Commitment To Louisville Remains Solid

As it turns out, a story that was written yesterday claiming that the verbal commitment made on Christmas Day by Wayne Blackshear, the 6'5 class of 2011 forward from Morgan Park High School in Chicago to the University Of Louisville is a "soft" one is nothing more than hearsay.
Per comments made by Kevin Thomas (Blackshear's stepfather) to Jody Demling of the Louisville Courier-Journal, Thomas said that his son's commitment to the Cardinals remains solid.
"Nothing has changed at all," Thomas said. "We were surprised when we saw the story because we don't know where it came from."
With this being said, it adds further confirmation to the fact that the initial story regarding the possibility of Blackshear still entertaining offers from other schools despite his commitment to Louisville lacked any solid foundation and also had no valid sources, as no one was mentioned by name. Furthermore, Blackshear has never offered any public acknowledgment whatsoever of a possible decommitment.
As a result, we believe that the Courier-Journal update has considerably more substance behind it and we will certainly take Thomas' word over anything that was written by the media outlet which first reported that Blackshear's commitment is soft. Since he is only a junior, Blackshear cannot sign a letter of intent until next November.
