Gary DeCesare produced a plethora of D1 basketball players when he was the head coach at St. Raymond's High School in the Bronx.  Now that he is the head coach at St. Rita High School in Chicago, DeCesare believes that he may have another one in 6'1 class of 2010 guard Lane Barlow.

Barlow has unquestionably been St. Rita's driving force during the early part of this season, as he is averaging 21 points per game.  DeCesare describes Barlow as an ideal combo guard who understands the game well and has a great feel for it.  There is no doubt in DeCesare's mind that Barlow can play college basketball at the D1 level.

"I believe that he could undoubtedly play in the MAC or the Horizon League," DeCesare told us.  "I have been looking at some of the rankings and I am amazed that Lane is not even mentioned.  There can't possibly be 60 seniors in Illinois who are better than him."

Barlow caught our eye when we watched him during the fall at the South Suburban Fall Exposure League in Oak Lawn, IL.  Not only was Barlow among the top scorers in the league, averaging 15.5 points per game, but he was also named a first team all-league selection.  We see Barlow as a strong guard who has excellent scoring capability and also has the playmaking skills to play the point.
